Foreclosures Turning Tenants Into Homeless

The phenomena of foreclosures across the US is not affecting homeowners alone, but also tenants, who find it extremely tough to find another landlord in case of a notice for immediate eviction. Although the problem is common to all cities of the country, it is remarkably acute in Los Angeles, Boston and Chicago.

In Los Angeles, the city council has stopped evictions to provide more time for the possible solution whereas in Chicago, the Cook County Sheriff's Department has made it mandatory for the banks to give a four-month notice of eviction to tenants living in a foreclosed property. Boston is also at the forefront of supporting the rights of tenants.
